The Giant Cerebriform Intradermal Nevus

Abstract
The giant cerebriform intradermal nevus is a special type of the Cuticis Verticis Gyrata, which is a morphologic syndrome, typically occurring on the scalp, characterized by varying development of permanent folds and furrows conferring a corrugated or convoluted appearance.
The giant cerebriform intradermal nevus is now recognized as a form of Congenital Giant Pigmented Nevus and considered to be of premalignant lesion. While removal of the giant nevus is never easy, and occasionally impossible, a surgical approach should be urged whenever feasible.
We have presented a case of giant cerebriform intradermal nevus, who is, 12 years old male. A brownish black gyrated, convoluted mass, 14X12X1.5cm in size, was occupying most of the right fronototemporoparietal area. The margin was well demarcated and the surface was vegetating with sparse hair.
The entire lesion was excised and the defect covered with transposition scalp flap. The remained forehead defect was covered with thick splict thichness skin graft from the lower abdomen. The result was excellent therapeutically and cosmetically.
